Never mind that Darius Rucker is one of the most well-known country singers in the world, heâs a proud South Carolina alum first and foremost.
The former Hootie & the Blowfish star attended the school in the 1980s, and heâs taking in every bit of South Carolinaâs special March that continued on Sunday with clinching a first-ever spot in the Final Four.
Rucker was at Madison Square Garden when the Gamecocks won 77-70 over Florida, and he shed a tear afterward on live television.

When Rucker hasnât been able to make the games live while keeping up his superstar schedule, he has been sneaking some viewing during his concerts to watch his alma mater. Whether he makes it to Phoenix to watch the Gamecocks in the Final Four against Gonzaga on Saturday, Rucker will most definitely be tuned in to watch it.
