Western Kentucky won the inaugural Bahamas Bowl, the first postseason game outside of Noth America since the 1937 Bacardi Bowl, with Brandon Doughty racking up 486 yards passing and five touchdowns, but this game will hold a place in bowl season lore forever because of Central Michigan , the team that fell one point short.

CMU quarterback Cooper Rush set a new bowl game record with seven touchdown passes, with five of those scores powering the Chippewas' 34-0 run in the fourth quarter. The game finished with arguably the most incredible play of the 2014-15 season: a 75 yard touchdown that began with a Hail Mary pass and included two additional laterals after a hook-and-ladder style exchange.

Story of the game: The final touchdown will be get the attention, but the comeback was as incredible. Central Michigan, without leading rusher Thomas Rawls, could not get its ground game going in the first half and entered the locker room trailing WKU 42-14. As the Hilltoppers fell out of rhythm with the comfortable lead, CMU took advantage and dominated the final 15-20 minutes of the game. Both teams finished with over 600 yards of offense, but Western Kentucky did not get a single first down in the fourth quarter. Punts, and one wild fumble, set up CMU in positions where it was easy to score and score quickly.

Highlight of the game: The decision to go for two instead of kicking for the tie and forcing overtime will be questioned, but at the time it made sense to ride the momentum of the offense and hope for a stunned WKU defense. Not sure what I think of the play call though...

Players of the game: Cooper Rush (493 yards passing, seven touchdowns) and Titus Davis (six catches, 139 yards, four touchdowns) were fantastic throughout the game and especially during CMU's comeback. Brandon Doughty was fantastic in the first half, when WKU probably won the game with six touchdowns on all six first half possessions, creating a deficit that was just big enough to make up for a scoreless fourth quarter.

Tweet of the game: SB Nation's Andy Hutchins was one of several people to point out the similarities to the game between Trinity University and Millsaps College in 2007 in Mississippi. There were two seconds left in that game, but the touchdown required 15 laterals instead of three. If you haven't watched recently, it's worth a quick view.

Grade (1st, 2nd, 3rd quarter): C. Mostly a Western Kentucky blowout, this part of the game allowed you to catch up with family and maybe wrap a few gifts.

Grade (4th quarter): A. How in the world did Central Michigan pull that off, and yet still fall short? The fourth quarter was a wild ride and worth every bit of your time during this otherwise slow Dec. 24.
