Michigan backup quarterback John O'Korn and the Wolverines offense struggled for much of a 20-10 victory against Indiana on Saturday. Even into the third quarter, the Hoosiers were leading and Michigan's playoff chances were starting to fade away like Marty McFly in his family photo.

Then the snow started to fall and things started breaking Michigan's way, almost as if Mother Nature wanted Michigan Men to survive the day.

Trailing 10-6, Michigan running back De'Veon Smith broke free for two long touchdown runs (34 yards and 39 yards) in the last five minutes of the third quarter. The snow-covered field made it difficult to see much on the broadcast in terms of action, and it apparently had an impact on the offense as well; both teams were scoreless in the final period of play.

There weren't touchdowns in the fourth quarter, but there were highlights, like this Michigan fan bundled up in a stormtrooper mask.

Michigan's cheerleaders, with no option to go inside and warm up until the conclusion of the game, made the most of the weather and had some fun by making some snow angels.

The view from the press box showed sight lines that were more wintry and majestic than informative for football commentary.
