Notre Dame and Texas A&M announced today an agreement to play a home-and-home series beginning with a meeting in College Station on Aug. 31, 2024.

The Fighting Irish will host the return trip, set for Sept. 27, 2025, in South Bend. Considering both schools are in the midst of major stadium renovation projects, it is impossible to predict what the setting will be like a decade from now. We're guessing that this futuristic football series will be a fun one.

“When you think of tradition-rich football programs, Texas A&M and Notre Dame are at the top of the list,” Eric Hyman, Texas A&M athletic director, said in an official release. “We are delighted to have them back on the schedule again for the first time since 2001.”

Notre Dame leads the all-time series 3-2, with a home-and-home in 2000-01 marking the most recent meetings between the two programs. Texas A&M was victorious in the last showdown, winning 24-3 victory against a Bob Davie-led Fighting Irish team in 2001.
