If Les Miles is out at LSU after Saturday's game against Texas A&M, all eyes will quickly turn to Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher as the school's primary target to be the Tigers' next coach.

Fisher's time as LSU's offensive coordinator establishes the basis for this attention, and the current Seminoles coach already dealt with LSU-related questions earlier this week. But Fisher also reportedly met with university president John Thrasher to assure him that these rumors are nothing to worry about.

In that meeting, Fisher "made it clear he is happy with the administration, the support he receives and the direction of the program, and has no intentions of leaving Florida State for another coaching job," according to the Palm Beach Post.

Fisher is 67-13 in six seasons with Florida State, where he took over for Bobby Bowden after a coach-in-waiting period. LSU would present an opportunity for Fisher to return to the SEC West, this time as a head coach. But the SEC West also presents an arguably tougher road to the College Football Playoff, and thus hurts a coach's opportunity to win the national championships that programs like LSU and FSU demand.
