Lowrie went 3-for-4 with a double, a homer and two runs scored in Tuesday's loss to the Angels.

Lowrie hit just two homers last year and hasn't enjoyed anything resembling a full season since 2014, so you're forgiven if you forgot he was still in the league. Indeed, he's the starting second baseman for Oakland, and he's rapped out five hits in the season's first two games. Of course, Lowrie's caveats are well known -- chiefly that he has trouble staying healthy enough to handle a 162-game grind. He'll have to stay both healthy and sharp as the season goes on to hold off impressive prospect Franklin Barreto.
