Braves' Joel De La Cruz: Goes five in Friday no-decision

De La Cruz didn't factor into the decision and gave up four earned runs on six hits and two walks over five innings against the Phillies on Friday. He struck out five.

The 27-year-old right-hander got into early trouble but then steadied for his final three frames. De La Cruz gave up an RBI double to Ryan Howard in the first and saw A.J. Ellis touch him up for a three-run blast the very next inning, putting him in a 4-0 hole after two. It marked the third straight outing in which De La Cruz gave up at least one homer. He's still in search of his first victory, which he'll next try for against the Nationals on Wednesday.
