Cabrera has been placed on the 10-day DL retroactive to March 30, MLB.com reports.
Cabrera has dealt with elbow soreness throughout the spring, but the team is optimistic that there isn't any serious damage. The hard-throwing right-hander will be eligible to return just after a week into the season, though it's unlikely he returns as soon as he's eligible, as Cabrera has yet to resume throwing. Once the 23-year-old is ready to return to the Atlanta bullpen, there's no doubt he'll be a valuable asset, as he offers a fastball that consistently touches 100 MPH.
