Bochy has elected free agency, SB Nation's Chris Cotillo reports.
Despite a strong season with Triple-A Sacramento (2.95 ERA, 1.28 WHIP), and four scoreless appearances with the big club over the final month, Bochy found himself among the first wave of offseason 40-man cuts. He has refused his assignment and figures to at least get a look in spring training with another club.
