Perez is out of the lineup Monday against the Cubs.
Perez had logged starts at third base in the last two games with Jonathan Villar (knee) sidelined, but now that Villar is back in the lineup, manager Craig Counsell elected to rest Perez. Given his ability to play all over the infield and both corner outfield spots, Perez should find his name penciled in on the lineup card more often than not, though Domingo Santana and Kirk Nieuwenhuis may occasionally push him to the bench.
