Pennington (elbow) is still going through a throwing program after having bone chips removed from his elbow over the offseason, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

The 21-year-old was part of the return for reliever Tyler Thornburg over the offseason, although just like the arm he was traded for, Pennington has yet to throw in a game this season. It's unclear how long he'll remain out, but once he's healthy, he'll likely head to either Low-A Wisconsin or High-A Carolina to develop further as a starter.
