Adams is out of the lineup Sunday against the Rangers.
With lefty Martin Perez on the hill for Texas, Adams will get the day off in favor of Brandon Moss at first base. Should manager Mike Matheny find himself in need of a pinch-hitter at any point, Adams would presumably be available to fill the role.
