Holliday has been diagnosed with a facial abrasion in his nose/upper lip area after being hit by a pitch during Thursday's game.

Fortunately, Holliday was cleared of a fracture and is considered merely day-to-day ahead of Friday's series opener against Brandon McCarthy and the Dodgers.
