Hendricks didn't factor into the decision against the Marlins on Friday, despite giving up only a hit and striking out five over five innings. He did surrender four runs (none earned) and four walks.

It was an interesting stat line for Hendricks, who gave up a grand slam to Justin Bour that nevertheless left his earned run ledger unscathed due to an error by Addison Russell. Hendricks was mostly effective otherwise, managing first-pitch strikes on 14 of the 22 hitters he faced. His control was an issue however and was the biggest culprit in the 26-year-old throwing 105 pitches in just five frames. The right-hander has put together a strong month overall that's included a 2.45 ERA and will look to close it out with a victory against the Reds next Wednesday.
