Murphy, as expected, was given the $15.8 million qualifying offer by the Mets,

Murphy will have seven days to accept or reject the offer, which will allow the Mets to receive draft pick compensation should he sign with another organization. The expectation is that he will end up elsewhere with numbers in the four-year, $50 million range having been tossed about in the industry.
