Carpenter was released by the Braves on Saturday, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
While it might not be a surprise that the Braves would eventually release Carpenter, it is a surprise that they pulled the trigger so early in camp. This can't bode well for Carpenter's future in the league, as the Braves were the kind of rebuilding team that he should have had a decent chance at making.
