Descalso will bat leadoff Friday against the Phillies, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.
Friday's start atop the order marks Descalso's fifth this season. He hasn't exactly been stellar at the dish, but he does have a .747 OPS against right-handed pitching. He may continue to see occasional chances in the top spot as the team rotates leadoff hitters in the absence of A.J. Pollock (groin, quad).
