Ray (2-4) only lasted 4.2 innings Friday against the Padres, in which he allowed five runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out eight.

The 24-year-old lefty was hit hard once again, and he's reached the six-inning mark only once in his last seven starts. His ERA rose to 4.67 as a result, and his only positive is the fact he's struck 60 in only 52 innings. However, his poor run of results might indicate he won't hold on to the fifth starter role for a very long time. His next start is scheduled for Wednesday against Houston.
