Making his first start of the season, Godley (1-0) pitched six inning, allowing two runs, four hits and three walks while striking out three in Saturday's win over the Marlins.

Not only did he win his first start of the year, but he did so in fashion by outdueling Jose Fernandez, one of the best pitchers in baseball who was riding an eight-game winning streaking into Arizona. Although it was obvious (and understandable) that he was a bit unsettled, Godley managed an efficient quality start. The plan for the 26-year-old right-hander remains unclear at this point. With a rotation plagued by injuries and lackluster performances, Godley's effort on Saturday may have been good enough to earn him another start.
