Nunez's (hamstring) MRI came back clean Wednesday, Andrew Baggarly of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Thankfully the MRI only showed inflammation in Nunez's ailing hamstring, although he's not out of the woods yet. He plans to test it out Friday, and if he feels any discomfort at that point, he could end up landing on the disabled list. This likely means he'll miss Thursday's contest but could return in time for Friday's series opener with the Mets if everything checks out. In the meantime, Aaron Hill and Kelby Tomlinson would be in line to pick up starts in his stead.
