Jackson (toe) will play in a rehab game Wednesday night with the hope of returning to the Indians shortly thereafter, Paul Hoynes of Cleveland.com reports.
Barring any extraneous circumstances, Jackson should resume his platoon role in Cleveland's outfield very soon. It's unclear how the Indians will write the lineup upon his return given the strong performance of Bradley Zimmer and the track record of Lonnie Chisenhall, but more information on that front should become apparent once the situation arises.
