Otero was acquired by the Indians on Friday for cash considerations, Ryan Lewis of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Otero had been DFA'd by Philadelphia within the last week, but the Phillies front office found a trade partner in the Indians on Friday. The veteran reliever struggled to a 6.75 ERA last season, but his career mark of 3.46 indicates that his 2015 campaign could have been an aberration.
