Bauer (5-5) pitched 3.1 innings, allowing four runs on five hits and five walks with three strikeouts in Wednesday's loss to the Rockies.

Bauer pitched on two days rest after his last start was cut short by rain. The results were not too good, as he added another short outing on Wednesday. Bauer allowed a pair of two-RBI doubles, and failed to get out of the fourth inning against the Rockies. Despite a career-high 11.2 K/9, Bauer's ERA has sat almost exclusively over 6.00 this season. Outside of his rain-shortened outing, he's allowed three or more runs in seven of his last eight starts. Even with his gaudy strikeout numbers, Bauer's other stats are tough to stomach.
