Taillon (groin) allowed one earned run and recorded six strikeouts over five innings in a rehab start with Triple-A Indianapolis on Friday.

Taillon looked impressive in his second rehab appearances after tossing three shutout innings with Double-A Altoona earlier this week, indicating a return to the Pittsburgh rotation could be imminent. The right-hander has been making progress after undergoing surgery for testicular cancer last month and shown little rust while facing live hitters. The team may wish for him to continue building up his arm strength after throwing just 68 pitches Friday, but a firm decision should be made available soon.
