The Rays have dispatched young starter Nathan Karns to the bullpen, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
The team is trying to limit his innings, which is up to 144 this season. Karns has not performed as well of late, posting a 4.97 ERA in August. He has four consecutive no-decisions and has allowed 14 earned runs in his last 23 2/3 innings.
He is 7-5 with a respectable 3.69 ERA on the year.
