Taylor walked one and struck out two in the bottom of the 13th inning to earn his first save in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the Cardinals.

Manager John Farrell had already burned closer Craig Kimbrel in the ninth inning when the game was tied, so he had to wing it in the extra frames. Taylor was the last man standing, the eighth reliever used in the game. Prior to Wednesday, Taylor had been used mostly in low-leverage and long-relief situations.
