Ramirez is receiving a rest day Wednesday due to shoulder soreness, Rob Bradford of WEEI.com reports.
It appears the shoulder injury which forced Ramirez to sit out three games earlier this season is still causing problems. The power-hitting veteran has already missed time with trapezius and neck injuries this year, factors which manager John Farrell said have contributed to his struggles at the plate. Boston has an off day Thursday, so Ramirez will have a chance to get healthy in time for this weekend's series against the Angels.
