Wright (shoulder) has not been ruled out of starting Tuesday's game against the Rays, according to manager John Farrell, Jason Mastrodonato of the Boston Herald reports. "Well, there has been a lot of conversation with Steven," Farrell said. "So, I think more than anything, I'm reserving that right to outline what Tuesday is after he gets off the mound [Sunday]."

Possibly starting Tuesday may come as news to Wright, who stated Saturday that his injured shoulder wouldn't be ready in time. "It just doesn't seem smart to try to rush," Wright said Saturday. "I never was told I was pitching Tuesday. I was told that was the first day I was eligible to come off. Somehow there was a miscommunication with somebody saying I was pitching Tuesday. I wish I could." Wright will throw a bullpen session Sunday, though it will be an abbreviated one in which he doesn't even throw the full 60 feet. Despite what Farrell suggests might happen, all signs point to Clay Buchholz starting Tuesday with Wright slotting back in at some point in the following days.
