Shaw, who fouled a ball off his ankle Tuesday but remained in, said his ankle started to stiffen up as the game went on and he is not sure if he will be able to play in Wednesday's game, the Boston Herald's Evan Drellich reports.
Shaw said it was the most pain he has ever been in after fouling a pitch off his body, and he was down on the ground initially before remaining in the game, albeit with a noticeable limp. The ankle bruise could force him to miss a game or two this week, and owners should check back to get an update on his status prior to Wednesday's game. Marco Hernandez or Deven Marrero would likely fill in if Shaw can't go Wednesday.
