Gennett will start at second base and bat second Monday against the Rays, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.
With Zack Cozart (quadriceps) hitting the disabled list earlier in the day, Gennett looks bound to man the strong side of a platoon at the keystone with Arismendy Alcantara for the duration of his absence. Gennett has destroyed right-handed pitching throughout his career, maintaining a .294/.330/.445 line over 1,532 plate appearances.
