Germen had a rough month of July, allowing 11 earned runs on 15 hits in nine innings pitched.
Things were going very well for Germen prior to the summer months, but the right-hander really cooled down when the weather heated up. This rough patch raised his ERA to 5.63, and to make matters worse, his K/9 now barely hovers above 7.0 after he only mustered five punchouts in July. The 28-year-old should remain in the Colorado bullpen for the time being since a good number of other relievers at the major league level are hurt right now, but it wouldn't be too surprising to see Germen shipped back to Triple-A once some of the injured arms return.
