Young threw two scoreless inning, allowing two hits with two strikeouts and a walk in his spring debut Thursday against the Rockies.

It was a solid first game back for the 37-year-old, who underwent surgery on his pelvis last October. He was never expected to miss any time, and it seems like he is still on schedule to be ready for Opening Day, where he will compete with Nathan Karns and Travis Wood for Kansas City's final rotation spot. If he isn't able to win the final rotation spot, he'll likely wind up in the bullpen, where he was more effective in 2016.
