Royals' Dillon Gee: Set to undergo surgery to repair blood clots

Gee hopes to be healthy by spring training, Rustin Dodd of the Kansas City Star reports.

Gee will undergo thoracic outlet syndrome surgery to cure his blood clots in the near future. Although he wants to be ready by spring training, this injury has a history of shortening or ending careers. After pitching in 33 games, Gee will end the 2016 season with a 4.68 ERA and 1.46 WHIP.
