Zimmer, who recently returned to action with Triple-A from a shoulder injury, is not expected to be called up anytime soon, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.

In three relief appearances -- each of which lasted two innings -- since being activated, the 25-year-old righty has surrendered just one run on four hits while striking out five. Zimmer is expected to fill a rotation spot for Kansas City in the not-too-distant future, but the club is in no hurry to push him through the ranks. Even if he does well in Omaha, the team currently has no room in its big-league rotation for Zimmer.
