Verlander (7-6) got hammered Sunday, allowing eight runs on nine hits (including four home runs) and two walks while striking out five over 4.2 innings in a loss to the Indians.
He held Cleveland off the board his first time through the order, but then gave up a couple runs in the fourth inning and all four homers in the fifth before getting chased. It's actually the first time Verlander has allowed that many homers in a game (forget about a single inning) since September 2007. He'll try to get back on track Saturday in Tampa.
