Tigers' Kerry Carpenter: Sitting against southpaw

Carpenter is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Carpenter has a 1.034 OPS with seven extra-base hits over his past eight games, but he'll receive Sunday off as lefty Jordan Montgomery pitches for Arizona. Wenceel Perez will shift to right field while Matt Vierling receives a start in center.
