Chen was extended a qualifying offer by the Orioles on Friday.
The move doesn't come as much of a surprise, as Chen posted another strong season in 2015, working to a 3.34 ERA with 153 strikeouts to just 41 walks in 191.1 innings, about on line with his 2014 output. The lefty turned 30 during the season, but is expected to command a multi-year deal on the open market.
