Gamel was signed to a major league contract Friday.
Gamel posted impressive numbers with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in 2015, slashing .300/.358/.472 with 10 homers and 13 steals. The big league club's outfield depth appears to be accounted for already, but Gamel will now be protected from the Rule 5 draft.
