For the fourth time th is season, the Yankees left-hander Chris Capuano has been designated for assignment. Capuano pitched in Tuesday's 15-1 pounding by the Astros, and he allowed six runs on three hits over two innings. Overall this season, Capuano owns an ugly 7.71 ERA in 35 innings.
The move was made to open up a roster spot for Michael Pineda, who was activated from the disabled list to start Wednesday's game.
