Teixeira is expected to have precautionary X-rays on his shin, Pete Caldera of the Bergen Record reports.
Teixeira was hit in the shin by a pitch in Wednesday's game and while he's not worried it's a long-term issue, he is "pretty sore" and will go in for X-rays to make sure there's no structural damage. Teixeira is being replaced by Rob Refsnyder in the lineup Thursday as the 39-year-old seeks a medical diagnosis.
