Noel will sit out Thursday's preseason game against the Wizards with a left groin strain, Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
It's unclear exactly when the injury occurred, but the Sixers are going to avoid any additional aggravation and hold Noel out Thursday. He doesn't appear to be in danger of missing any regular season action, but his next opportunity for a return will be Saturday versus the Cavaliers. Coach Brett Brown has yet to decide on the frontcourt rotation for the regular season, but with the presence of Joel Embiid and Jahlil Okafor (knee), there appears to be a logjam at center.
