Green agreed Saturday with the Celtics on a one-year guaranteed contract for the veteran's minimum, Sean Deveney of Sporting News reports.

Green has been a journeyman throughout his NBA career, bouncing around between eight teams in nine seasons to go along with stops in the D-League, Russia and China. It will now all come full circle for the veteran swingman, who rejoins the team that drafted him in the first round out of high school in 2005. The Celtics already have a trio of established guards on their roster in Isaiah Thomas, Marcus Smart, and Avery Bradley, but there should be some spare backcourt minutes left over for Green, who occasionally carried the Heat offense for extended stretches while coming off the bench last season. While he figures to open the season as a rotation player, Green will have to fend of youngsters R.J. Hunter and Jaylen Brown for minutes as the campaign progresses.
