Olynyk (shoulder) will be limited to non-contact drills during the start of training camp, Jay King of MassLive.com reports.
Olynyk underwent right shoulder surgery in May and is still working his way back into the swing of things, so while he'll be restricted to start camp, he should see his activity level pick up as the regular season approaches. The Celtics are scheduled to reevaluate Olynyk on Oct. 15, which should provide us clarification on if he'll be ready to play in the team's regular season opener. Olynyk is expected to compete with Amir Johnson and Jonas Jerebko for a starting role in the frontcourt alongside Al Horford, so the longer Olynyk is out, the more time Johnson and Jerebko have to get a leg up in the competition.
