Gasol (foot) is expected to be available for the Grizzlies' Oct. 26 season opener, NBA.com reports.

Gasol injured his foot on Saturday, and there was some concern he aggravated the same fractured bone in his right foot that required season ending surgery in February of last season. However, an MRI "came back clear", and the injury appears to be a bone bruise in a different area than his previous fracture. The injury was sustained while Gasol was playing his third game in five nights, which represented the most extensive test his foot and conditioning had seen in the eight months since surgery. The veteran big man does not seem to concerned about the issue, and team expects him to be available for the season opener against the Timberwolves.
