Whiteside (illness) did not practice Tuesday and is considered questionable for Wednesday's meeting with the Pistons, Shandel Richardson of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

Whiteside came down with an illness that's been making its way through the Heat's locker room, and as of Tuesday afternoon, the team is yet to decide whether the center will travel with the team to Detroit. If he does not make the trip, Miami would likely resort to starting Udonis Haslem or Chris Andersen at center. Alternatively, coach Erik Spoelstra could shift Chris Bosh to center and insert a player like Josh McRoberts at power forward. Luol Deng (hamstring) is also considered questionable for Wednesday's game.
