Lopez has been ruled out of Wednesday's game against the Bulls for rest purposes, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.

The Nets will hold three of their key veterans (Lopez, Jeremy Lin and Trevor Booker) out for rest in the season finale, allowing the coaching staff to get a longer look at some of the team's lesser-established options. Justin Hamilton and Andrew Nicholson figure to split the workload at center Wednesday with Lopez unavailable, which should translate into a bump in minutes for both players. Lopez finishes the 2016-17 campaign with averages of 20.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.8 three-pointers and 1.7 blocks across 29.6 minutes per game in 75 appearances. He'll be a foundation piece for the Nets next season as he enters the final year of the three-year, $63.4 million contract extension he signed in July 2015.
