Young was inconsistent at the Orlando Summer League, during which he averaged 11.5 points, 4.0 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game.

Young played in the Pacers' first four games before sitting out with a bruised tailbone, which he suffered in a July 6 matchup with the Thunder. In Indiana's opening game, Young finished with 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting (5-of-7 3Pt) to go with four assists, but he followed up with back-to-back single-digit scoring performances. Young scored 10 points on 4-of-9 shooting against the Thunder prior to departing. The Oregon product was reduced to a deep bench role as a rookie, and that's not likely to change much next season with Jeff Teague, Aaron Brooks and Rodney Stuckey firmly ahead of Young on the depth chart.
