Dinwiddie was released by the Bulls on Friday, Jeff Goodman of ESPN reports.

Dinwiddie's chances of making Chicago's final roster was put in jeopardy as soon as the team traded for Michael Carter-Williams, giving the team a surplus of point guards on their roster. With Carter-Williams in addition to Jerian Grant and Isaiah Canaan in the lineup, Dinwiddie ended up being the odd man out. He boasts good size for the point guard position and could potentially be picked up by a team in need of point guard depth, but his immediate future in the NBA is looking bleak.
