Looney will be assigned to the D-League's Santa Cruz Warriors on Friday, Anthony Slater of the San Jose Mercury News reports.
Aside from a 17-minute outing in Saturday's loss to the Spurs when the Warriors were resting four regulars, Looney hasn't been included in the rotation since the All-Star break, logging four appearances of no more than two minutes. He'll stick with the Warriors for Thursday's game against the Magic before heading out to Santa Cruz for what could be an extended stint as the organization looks to find meaningful court time for the second-year forward.
