Thomas Rawls is competing to be the starting running back for the Seahawks this year, and he might have the edge on newcomer Eddie Lacy coming into the season, as well as C.J. Prosise. Rawls, who has battled an ankle injury in the preseason, has worked primarily with the starters during training camp, and this gives him a chance to be the No. 1 Seattle running back drafted in most Fantasy leagues. We still expect Lacy, Prosise and even rookie Chris Carson to get playing time, but Rawls should come off the board first with a mid-round pick. Remember, Rawls was great as a rookie in 2015 when he had 147 carries for 830 yards (5.6 yards per carry) and four touchdowns and nine catches for 76 yards and a touchdown. If you take the six starts he was able to finish when Marshawn Lynch was hurt and project those stats over 16 games then he would have finished with 336 carries for 1,899 yards and 11 touchdowns and 16 catches for 181 yards. But he suffered a broken ankle in Week 14 of that season, and injuries limited him to nine games in 2016 when he had 109 carries for 349 yards (3.2 yards per carry) and three touchdowns and 13 catches for 96 yards. Offensive line woes played a part in Rawls' struggles last year, and now he'll have to contend with a crowded backfield. Still, Rawls has appeal as a low-end No. 3 running back in most formats, and he should have the chance for a prominent role as long as he's healthy.
